Heres another made by the same guy that did the other bullet hits....this one is a head shot though....

Again, be warned sort of graphic, although there is no nudity in this one....

Lets get some comments on how this one was done.....

Heres my opinion....Bloodpack/Squib in the back of the head and CGI for the smoke and bullet hole in the front....

What do you guys think?

CG is probably a reasonable assesment for the smoke, although it might be an electric spark gun with some smoke powder in the barrel. What ever the case, they screwed up with the lack of smoke escaping from the side of the cylinder - it is a revolver after all.

I tend to think, however, the exit wound was done with a compressed air delivery system running up the behind the talent's (and I use this word in the loosest possible sense) neck and head. Seems like an awful lot of blood to be thrown by a squib safely, but I could be wrong. Also it is not particularly convencing since it is a bucket full of blood, but nothing in the way of brains, skull fragments, etc. Even just a small amont of "chunky stuff" would have sold it much more. See _The Usual Suspects_ when the Baldwin character kills the two bodyguards in the elevator. They used a great deal less blood, but added some brain matter, and it is a much more convencing head shot than this. I've not studied enough forensic science to know what is more realistic, but more goo and less blood is certainly more cinematic.

All in all, not bad, but far from great.

Yeah, I agree I think the blood was probably shot out of a tube from behind the girl, I noticed she is sitting in a wheelchair, so its probably running up the back of that and shot out with some kind of air pressure.

not bad. Of course the exit wound was overdone(fun to watch though) for that kind of weapon. Sometimes it's mostly blood and little bits of brain matter. A lot of the time the brain matter is barely noticeable when it hits the walls. Remember that when it exits from a bullet wound it's kinda like soft butter.

i noticed something there
if you watch closely, right when the blood shoots out, you can see about an inch between the entry wound and where the blood comes out.the blood is clearly coming from behind her head. it still freaked me out the first time i saw it though.

The fellow who did the entry wound was on "Judge Cal's High Wierdness" a couple of weeks ago. Go to ParseTv and look in the archives section. I believe the show listing will have a picture from the clip next to it.
I remember him describing it, but not if he went into great detail.
