about a month back on the X-show they had some guy from Troma on there and he showed them how to do some special effect with green food coloring and Bromo seltzer. it wound up foaming out of his mouth and it looked pretty cool. it was a lot like what you see in the toxic avenger movies. if any one saw this and remembers how it was done please let me know. later, snotguy------------------ your gonna blow your hand off! |

I wonder how bicarb of soda would go? You'd need to mix a dry colouring into it rather than a fluid based food dye to stop it reacting. Also maybe mix it with some milk powder to get the foaming effect. This would taste gross but would add to the actors facial expressions. By the way, cooking type people, is it safe to stuff Bicarb in your mouth? ------------------ Sausage's Lounge Area |

I saw that episode. All he did was, he took some bromoseltzer put it in his mouth, then he had a glass with food coloring in it and he put that in his mouth (i would recommend not drinking it, it is safe but nasty) and then he just let it foam out of his mouth.------------------ ~ Jaymo I might be crazy, but i ain't stupid.

I wish i would remember things before for i sent them off. The guy you are refering to is Lloyd Kaufman, the founder and the man behind troma films, which made the toxic avenger movies.------------------ ~ Jaymo I might be crazy, but i ain't stupid.

This trick and several other classic classy Troma FX are detailed in Lloyd Kaufman's book 'Everything I know about filming I learned from the Toxic Avenger', published by Berkley Boulevard, ISBN 0-425-16357-1. If memory serves me correctly, that is, hehehe. |

i'm sorry, but what does bromoseltzer mean? my first language isnt english, and i've never heard this one. how about these vitamin pills that dissolve in water? if you'd put that in your mouth it would start foaming but i bet it'd taste a little extreme. |

Bromoseltzer is like alka-selzer (i think thats how you spell it) i believe it is for indigestion. I don't know, maybe i am talking out of my a**. But i do know that is what they used. It is safe to put in your mouth and swallow. But i wouldn't recommend swallowing a whole bunch of it. You might retaste your lunch. |
