For those of you who have not yet talked with me through this board, I am Jonathan Franz, and am with a entertainment company known as J.J. Crystal Productions. With a great deal of talent, connections, and resources, our group is working towards making contrubitions to the entertainment world. To make a long story short, we are currently in the process of developing a major motion pictre set to film this summer. Through contact with Envoy Ent. in Las Angeles, and ER Productions in Columbus, we have a great deal of professional equpt. at our disposal. As a result, our film will compare with the Hollywood varieties. Obviously we are putting a great deal of time and effort into script development and storyboard analysis however, there is one thing missing. No matter how dramatic or developed a story may be, no matter how well shot or lit a location may be, there is one thing that will make or break a film...Actors and Actresses are clearly the key element in any movie. They portray emotions and give us a visual portrait of the movie itself. Therefore, it is most important to find the PERFECT person to fufill each role. Thus, we at J.J. Crystal are looking to locate the most fit individuals to help us with our production (Titled "Conspicuous Cosumption") . Acting skills are not necessary, we are merely interested in seeing genuinity in a person. This post will thus serve as a "casting" for "Conspicuous Consumption". If you think you fit any of the descriptions below and are interested in participating in the production of a major motion picture, then you may be selected to work with us this summer. Obviously there are certain requirements which I must state upfront: In order to participate in the "casting"...

- You must be located in the Columbus, Ohio area or able to visit the city for the length of your role (amount of time depends on significantce of role)

- You must be willing to sign a contract thus saying that you will work with J.J. Crystal through the duration of the production and completion of the film

With those requirements outlined, here is a description of the main characters. If you feel that you fit any of the roles, please post a reply on this board and send us an e-mail with all information about yourself. (Pictures are always helpful). Please take the time to look, you just might be the next star...

MAIN CHARACTERS-

- Bradley Watson: A young (17-19 yr. old) adolesent, who is trapped in a world of superficality and who lives a double-life. Struggling through the teenage existance, Bradley's narration provides information about the true teenage perspective on life.

(Bradley is a good-looking, model debaucher, whom the audience will secretely admire, admist his secular life-style. His extravant possessions and vivacious atittude allows him to stand out in his middle-class surroundings.)

- Emily Hutchinson: A beautiful and radiant teenage girl, Emily is the daughter of a preacher. She is thus very moral and proper, and she is very satisified with life. The challenge however, comes when her relationship with Bradley becomes more personal and she discovers the truth of his double-life.

(Emily must portrayed as nieve and innocent. She does not look past anyone's superficiality, and thus she does not discover the truth about them.)

- Aaron Belmont: Another wild and extravent character, Aaron is Bradley's best friend. He lives for himself, and thus spends his time partying away his life just as Bradley. The challenge comes when Aaron finds he is losing Bradley to a girl and a different lifestyle. Aaron must attempt to selfishly ruin Bradley's relationship while also struggling with his addiction to alcohol. Out of control, Aaron must listen to the one person left to help him, but will he?

- Summer Laurence: Another beautiful girl, Summer is seductive, possessive, and generally wild. She fills the role of Bradley's debautante however, trapped in superficialtiy their relationship never developes farther then the sex that encompasses it.

MINOR ROLES:

- Mr. Watson: Filling the generalized father role, Tom is oblivious to the activities of his son. He nonchalantly portrays himself as a "Christian" however, he does little to mission to even his own son.

- Mrs. Watson: The typical suburban mother, she spends her time cooking and cleaning. Thinking she has raised a perfect family however, is also blinded to anything below the surface.

- Reverend Hutchinson: An over-protective father, who shelters his daughter with the "Christian" word and life-style. Emily is a true mold of himself.

- Todd Wells: Another of Bradley's superficial friends, Todd is dwarfed by the mentailty of Aaron. He seems to fit in as a passive observer, only giving his opinion when prompted.

- Andrew Spellman: An "imatation" Bradley, Andrew lives a similar lifestyle however, he lacks the skill and wit that make Bradley so ingenituous. Bradley sees him as a rival, and they thus engage in a battle of superficiality.

If you are interested in filling any of the above roles, do not hesitate to post a response, and e-mail me. We are interesting in helping young actors make their way into the main-stream, and allowing you to be a benefitial part in our production. Thank you for your interest. If you are shooting in the summer, I may be able to do the "Bradley" role. I am 17, 18 in September, and I think I could do a good job at it.
