Anyone know how to hook up the Canon XL-1 with Adobe Premire/After Effects? What kind of capture card? How much? Any sites I can visit with the info? Any info is appreciated! Thanks, |

Well the XL-1 is fully compatible so what you need to do is make sure that your card is compatible.Go here for a list of compatible cards.... http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/cards.html I would recommend the Raptor or the DV200. The DV200 is $399 and comes with the full ver of Premiere. Awesome value. |

save yourself $200 and get a pyro card. they cost $100 at best buy and work just fine. The only drawback is that you can not capture with premiere. instead, capture with the ulead software that comes with it and use that file in premiere/after effects. then when you have a finished file, send it back to the camera with ulead. As a plus, the Pyro will be fully compatable with premiere 6.0 when that ships. All you'd need is the 5.5-6.0 patch and you'll be all set. this is what I am currently doing. The $200 I saved got me a nice tripod with a Bogen head. |
