If anyone has scene the old Tristar Godzilla trailer, they have a cool scene where g's foot is moving across the screen, the camera is moving at the same speed, and showing people looking at his foot. Well, my question is how can i do that effect? I am doing a Godzilla trailer, and i really want to have godzillas foot go across the screen wright in front of my friend. What do I need? I dont have any programs, none, not adobe after effects, nothing, id there a cheap way i can do this? a blu screen maybe?... I dont know, so please help.

THANKS

Well, what do you have to work with? And we'll see what we can come up with.

Yeah, kind of a limited toolset, huh? You'd need some kind of software (or a editing box that can do chromakeying, which you probably don't have) to do bluescreen.

How's about this--You take your monster's foot (probably 6 inches long or so?), and attach it to your camera with a long rod. Adjust it so that it fills the view properly (ie you can't see the rod, or the top of the foot), then set your focus on the camera to "infinite". Then, film your actor, moving the camera (and foot) in a way to make it look like the foot is travelling.

I've never tried this, but I'm guessing you'd have to play with the distances quite a bit to find one that works--you couldn't just stick the foot to the lense, and expect to be able to focus on your actor.
