Well that depends on the platform you are using. Mac or PC? PC you press the 'Print Screen' key , then paste it into a paint program or word processer.

if u can mirror ur desktop onto a tv with ur capture card, u can just hit record on the vcr, record it, then send it back and capture it. pretty nifty...hehe

I want my computer screen animated - so the 'Print Screen' is out of the theory since it only captures a still of the interface.

I also want it so that it has 'true interface'look. So I don't want to film my monitor or anything like that.

How do they project the computer monitor in exhibitions and stuff? Maybe this is the answer to this question.

Does anybody know how this is done?

they probably do that with an actualy lcd projector.... anyhoo
you could use a screen capture3 program called snagit which can capture designated locations (including fullscreen) in video.

ahhh, I see, you didn't mention in your message that it had to be animated.

Well in presentations they use a projecter to put it on a screen such as an In Focus or Proxima. They also have equipment that can show it on a TV screen, like what is used in teleconferencing.

Your best bet is to do what Sparkbus said and just record it on your VCR via a capture card. My crappy ATI card has an option in the display properties for output to TV, I just hook up a VCR and record.

Depends what you want to have appear on the screen. You can get a few programs (um, Lotus ScreenCam, do they still make that?) that will capture an AVI from the screen, but they can't always maintain a high enough frame rate. You could always fake it - build or capture the various elements that you want and then animate them to make it look as though you're interacting with it...
