I've got a script that needs work on a scene where the interrogators try to get them to speak but there so harda$$ed that it calls for something that will get them to spill everything. Basically I want the audience to feel the pain. They could try slapping him to begin with but he isn't that puny. I want it to work up until they accidently kill him.

Hey Pyro,

Perhaps they could use a bat or baton and whack their kneecaps. Basically anything that makes a noise - broken bones especially. Whenever the audience hears a CRACK after a blow they wince, so they'll feel his pain. Also, have their teeth knocked out. Blood flows, teeth everywhere, the audience will feel the pain.

make of the interrogators hold the guy's hand down on the table. Have the other guy grab his gun and smash his fingers with the butt of the weapon. Or if the interrogation is not at a cop station or anyhting its more fun. In a house, have one of the guys grab a corkscrew and stick it into the guy's thigh or pry his fingernails off with metal pieces from the garage. Cut his eyelids off, use your demented imagination.

When the guys refuse to spill the beans, have the interrogators open a tiny capsule that reveals a weird, digital/organic bug-like creature. Then have them insert the bug into the guy's navel...wait...um, nevermind.

Hey, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...or something...

Firstly what is the reason why they need the information, and what is the time..is it the past, present or future, as there are lots of ways to interogate people. Ranging from light damage to critical( he will not be having children injuries)

1.Water being poured into mouth(slow drowning)hand tied behind back.
2.Breaking any bones
3.Breaking kneecap`s
4.Burning bodyparts
5.Putting salt on open wounds
6.Cattle prod in the groin
7.Crushing slowley the Left then right testicals.
or Connect electrodes to his testis...And away you go.

If this does not make them give the information up then they can bloody well keep the info.

have the interrogators tell the guy that everytime they ask a question and he doesn't answer, they're going to cut off a finger starting with the pinkie.

Hope this helps

Pyro, if you have access to anyone that taped every episode of Babylon 5 (or just want to rent some of the eps from Blockbuster), they did 2 EXCELLENT interrogation eps. "Comes the Inquisitor", and "Intersections in Real Time."

"Inquisitor" dealt with alien powers, so you couldn't copy directly from it. "Intersections" was human against human interrogation (the episode was nothing but interrogation scenes).

The best part of both eps was the psychological torture. Make your viewers absolutely hate the interrogator (even if, like in "Inquisitor", the interrogator winds up being the "good" guy). "Intersections" also had some good physical torture as well. The highlights included:

Being locked in a completely dark room, and randomly people come in a beat you.
Being starved for a week. The interrogator then gives you food, which you eat, but it was laced with a poison that makes you puke your guts up 1/2 hour later.
Electric Shocks.

You'd have to see the ep to really get a good handle on it--wonderful work, though. I could probably write a longer synopsis, if you'd like.

they could use a hack saw to the arm. With the grinding of flesh and peaces of bone braking off that sure would give me the chill.
Having long needles that they stab into him and then they brake them off.

Something like smashing fingers or his balls with a hammer sort of like on pay back.

having a hot prod rammed into every singal joint in the persons body.

Those all sound painful, especially the jumper cable nutcracker. It takes place in the future and the information is his testimony of who done it but they don't talk because if they did, they'd be hunted down and they wouldn't have anything to bargain with. I want the interrogator to be ruthless.
Like he dunks a tea bag while they try and drown him. It take place in the future, as most of my scripts do because you can make everything out like you want it to be. I think the past would be the hardest and give you the least creativity. The present is quite possibly the most boring. I'll look into Blockbuster for those tapes.

One word. ELECTRICITY!

Actually your modern, efficient interrogator is painless. He uses drugs.

Use a high speed, low power, superprescise laser that vaporizes the skin off of his body at a very slow rate like 1/50th of a milimeter per second.

Inject a high speed toxin that causes localized decay, sort of like instant lepersy. They inject it into fhis pinky, it turns brown in a couple of seconds and they rip it off with minimal effort.

Or cryogenics, *snap*!

Dental drill, mouth full of cold lemon juice, no anasthetic.

Cut off the circulation to an extremity till it gets gangrenous, then sic the horseflies on it (better have a week to spare).

Cold lemon juice? I eat lemons for breakfast.
Hmmm. The slow death sounds good. Cryogenics
is something I'll look into. I didn't think about lasers, but maybe I could create a gamma field closing in on 'em or something. I heard that would melt them and break up their atoms into goop. I want it to start out without pain but when he won't talk they take torture up another noche to get him to talk.I think it would be real funny if they broke his fingers and his jaw because then he wouldn't be able to tell them, 'least not easily.

Personally, I say use the tried and true stuff. Especially if your doing a "police interrogation"
To add to the ones above, BUT to do so without leaving marks and making your victim unable to prove he was beaten, do what the cops used to way back when;
Put a phone book on their back than hit them HARD with a nightstick or sap. Its just as painful but leaves no marks, and the sound of a hard wood or leather sap hitting the phone book is kinda, well, creepy.

one of those little hand held blue flame torch lighters to the guy's bare chest. Owwwwwwwww. Sprinkle some salt on.

You could always do a DUNE on them. You know the black box of the witch. He endured the feeling of pain. He could see the damage, infact there was no damage at all when he pulled his hand from the box. It was in his mind? You could also do the unconscious interrogation, now that could be wide open for action and damage. He would then wake up with no physical damage to his body?

That phonebook thing is pretty cool. What are some other things you could do to a 'victim' without leaving marks or anything?

along doom's lines, psychological torture is probably the best kind without leaving marks. make the subject go crazy and confused. send them into a maze, or a stairwell like in the Avengers. or use a virtual reality unit to send them into scary circumstances. like have them in the position where they go through a horrible death (falling off a tall building or bridge, go through a natural disaster, etc.) if it's in the future then you could have a virtual reality unit that makes you feel as if you're there, and you feel your body move and your nerves are effected. that would be really tramatic to go through a crisis or death experience and then to find out you're not dead, only were imagining it, and you had to feel the pain and heartache of it all and still live through it. the person would wake up soaked with sweat, would be given an option to reveal information, and if they didn't comply, then sent through another ordeal in virtual reality. this could get some terrifying screams and body movement that would make the audience feel for the victim. of course, you'd also have a chance to show what's happening in the virtual experience and get some really cool footage.

i agree with digit on the pscho torture thing.

but hey, if you go for pain, check out the ending of mel gibson's payback. the bad guys take off his shoes and smash each toe to paste (1 hit of course) until he tells them what they want.

that was the worst thing i had seen in an interrogation.

also, in three kings, they force fed oil to a guy. don't be afraid to get real violent and gross, but only if it fits the personality, and the script calls for it.

I have heard that sleep deprivation is a sure fire way to get answers. I may take a week, but lack of sleep makes the person so miserable that they'll say anything to get some shut eye.

That could be boaring to watch, so I'll mention the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in a torture scene. I forget what movie it was (Boys from Brazil sticks in my head for some reason), but what they did was tie a guy to a chair, break a window, take pieces of glass and stick them in his mouth and then punch him in the face. The glass would shatter in his mouth and cut up his tounge, cheeks and gums. Owch!

You could always go with power tools. Electric drills, saws, nail guns, blowtorches, sanders - all very nasty. Raid the garden shed...

A very effective way to get answers is to double them up, a couple, man and woman, more often than not, if you threaten one, the other will cave.
Strip down the woman and threaten, well, whatever you think a man might fear happening to his wife, and you get the picture. Most times, a guy will cave without a single injury.
If he doesn't have anyone that close, then simply line up innocent victims, and tell him, he can talk or you'll brutalize each one in turn. then go out and find his family, his friends, even his dog and do the same.

those are some sick ways of torture, one of the most disgusting/painfull/creep giving ideas (mine) is to paper-cut the guys eyeball, thets gotta hurt, or, the goodies are the oldies, gut him like a fish, like in Braveheart, but show it happen.
another thing, think barbed wire.
also, use a scalpel on his gums, i hate that.

or, shave his head with a loaf of bread!!!! (what?)

They snap a led pencil in half and insert one half in each of his nostrils and proceed to slowly push his head into the table everytime he refuses to talk.

(BTW, this is not a joke post, some guy in a regional highschool down here SLAMMED his head into a table with two halfs up his nose half way through an exam believing he had stuffed it up. He died.)
