I am currently working on an Indiana Jones story(possibly a spoofy type movie, I'm not sure yet). At first I used King Arthur's tomb as his ultimate goal, ya know like the Ark or the Holy Grail. After thinking about it, I decided I'd rather have a less popular or well known item for Indy's search. Does anybody know any websites that deal with this sort of thing, like Bigfoot or the City of Atlantis? Or does anybody have any suggestions on something I could use? Oh, and Happy Holidays to all!!! |

What about Noahs Ark? Or possibly an artifact on the Titanic. After all Indy is set in the 1930's and the titanic wasn't found until the 80's..... P.S.. Indy could have been on the titanic, he would have been 13 at the time of the sinking |

Noah's Ark is a possibility. Have you read any of the Indy novel's? The book "Indiana Jones and the Genesis Deluge" is about finding Noah's Ark, its really great and would be a perfect movie, if I had a big budget. I believe that there is also a Young Indiana Jones book where Indy is on the Titanic. If you've never heard of the books before, you did a good job of thinking up those ideas, huh. The only real problem I see with the Noah's Ark idea is the lack of any urgency with finding it. In Raiders and the Last Crusade, both items had to be found before the Nazi's found them. That was a very simple explanation for all of the action and excitement to find them. But Noah's Ark has no power or magic to it, I don't think at least, that would make an army or a crazy leader want it. I can't remember why they wanted it in the book, I'll have to check into that. Same thing with the Titanic idea, no real sense of danger if Indy doesn't find it in time. But thanks for the ideas, both would be great in a movie that was more about treasure hunting than good vs. evil. [This message has been edited by JasonSly (edited 12-24-2000).] |

That's not a bad idea. I'm up for a fictional story as well. It wouldn't even have to be a time travel story. It could take place right after his death or a few years later. I'll definately add it to the list. Thanks for the help. Happy Holidays! |

dont have him hunt for a bible relic again. raiders of the lost ark and the last crusade were pretty much the same, and if you did a bible-nazi thing again it would be to similar. have him searching for a more exotic treasure, like an egyptian or mayan or indian treasure. sort of like in the temple of doom, just dont have annoying sidekicks.------------------ Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication--early Macintosh ad |

Sluggo, I agree completely with you on the biblical relics. I considered the Shroud of Turin briefly, but decided against it. I also am definately not including the Nazi's in it either. I do like those movies more than Temple, because they are based on reality, I think the Sankara stones were either fictional or a stretch on a legend. That's my problem, I want something different than what's been seen before, but I don't want it to be completely made up. I think searching for something like the Ark or Holy Grail made it easier for audiences to connect with the movie, since they knew about the objects he was hunting for. Thanks for the suggestions, I know I should do my own research, but do you know any legends or tales of any treasure or artifacts from these regions? |

OK... I know that in ancient Egypt, the people highly believed in the afterlife and the Kaa or Ba returning to the body or something like that. Maybe you could do something with a place used for ressurections (like in the Mummy). Perhaps you could have a group of Nazi's (after the death of Hitler) try to bring the bastard back to life. LOL! |

That's a really clever idea! It's definately different than any of the other movies. I'll have to add that to my list. The only problem I can think of is that their isn't an item to obtain, no treasure to find. But its still a great idea and may be made. I'll try to thik of some more ideas and try to decide on one soon. |

Trollhunter's idea sounds real good, as far as I know (making an uneducated guess) Hitler's complete body was never found, the Nazis left a decoy and took the real one to Egypt for the resurrection? |

Make Indy need to find some ancient key that's inside a tomb of on of the pharaohs (Maybe Khufu or some other little-known king). This key can be for the ressurection chamber which will, in turn, ressurect Hitler. Maybe you could even get him almost fully ressurected and then his head gets cut off or something like that... you know... the stuff that would happen at the climax of the movie. Something gruesome... hehehe.And... yes Piker... that would be good, that the nazis take Hitler's (intact) body to Egypt. And yes again... perhaps leaving some decoy body behind. What a team we make! If you want to know more about the pharaohs or info about them to put into the screenplay... just email me and I'll get you some info! good luck! Something I just thought of... Maybe the girl Indy has to save can be taken by the Nazis to be used as a sacrafice that is neccessary for Hitler's ressurection. |

be carefull guys, this is getting way too much like "The Mummy", if it is and you plan to sell the movie you might get sued, but try to be original like for say, have indy hunting for some kind of document that explains what really happened at the nazi concentration camps or something, tell me if you like my idea because there's plenty of room to expand on it!------------------ "This isn't mission difficult its mission impossible, difficult should be a walk in the park" -Anthony Hopkins, M:I2 |

Well, since the story is Indiana Jones, I'm more concerned with George Lucas, then anyone who thinks its a little too similar to The Mummy. And I never plan on making any money from my stupid little movies I'm still piecing the story together, keep the idea coming guys!! |
