Hey All, because my fog machine (thats right! ) is on the way, I decided to make a movie with it. Its called Terminal Haze, its about some kind of fog, that turns people inside out or does something creepy like that but im not sure what, any ideas what it could do? Really BMovie style, and ps - what is a good definition? ,like you know in pulp fiction how at the beginning it had the little definition, of pulp, and fiction, i thought i would do that, bt i cant seem to find a impressive definition, so any ideas on either? Thanks

There's a Stephen King short story collection book and in it is a really cool story about an evil fog where these weird things from another dimension hide in it and kill things and stuff. The way I'm stating it makes it sound real stupid, I know, but if you read the story you'd see what I'm talking about. Some real creepy stuff in it. I can't think of the name of the book that's in it, unfortunately. Anybody here know what I'm talking about and give the title of the book?

are you sure its not my life story?

that simpsons episode?

ok, well it sounds like something hollywood would do, you know, they get a new toy and make a movie around it. i guess if you do it right it wont seem like such a "gimmick film" have it set inside a "movie world" where the fog represents the degredation of the film stock over time. the characters know its the "end of the world" but still have to go on

oh well, this is script crypt material, which is why i'm not doing so good with it

eggy, the name of the story is "The Mist" and its a chemical that leaks from a secret govt lab and turns all these bugs, spiders, and such into giant mutant creatures that trap a small group of Maine residents in a grocery store.
Its a great story!

Yeah! That was it! It's a great story indeed. Read that for some inspiration WEF, you'll probably get some ideas from it.

awsome, sounds cool, im thinkin thats a good idea, take something and make the fog affect it so stuff comes alive, but hmmm, what should come alive? Or mutate?

Heh, yeah...you could simply name that film "John."

Well...What if the fog was a sort of future-echo thing. Like whenever someone walked into it, they'd see a picture of what is to come in the next five minutes...ten minutes...even hundred years.

Imagine how creepy it'd be to see your own death while driving home one night in thick fog. hmm....

Maybe it could be an internal mutation, invisible to the naked eye, i.e.: able to read minds, or a microbiological alien that takes over a humans brain and uses the human as a sort of "transportation vessel" where it could do evil things and what not, or somethin where they get weird powers, like x-ray eyes or spit acid or something weird like that...

Please don't mind my senseless rabble, I'm just trying to throw out ideas here! I hope this helped somewhat.

That Stephen King story was really cool. I think he's at his best when he writes shorts stories or novellas-- keeps him out of that "writing by the pound" mode.

The fog could turn people into some kind of zombie. Perhaps the fog has a consciuosness of its own, and turns people into drones of some kind to serve its instinctive desire for survival.

You could also make the fog itself the enemy-- a life sucking parasite, ala The Blob. You could create a chilling opening scene where someone discovers that an entire town/neighborhood of people is dead, with no apparent cause, and the last wisps of fog disappearing around a corner...

Enjoy the fog machine. Those things are cool!
