I am looking for a good, thaught prevoking film idea in the same vein as David Cronenberg's earlier works (Shivers, Rabid, Videodrome). Anything is appreciated. Thanks.

i'd like to see a movie based on the book our lady peace used for their concept album, spiritual machines.

machines with souls?

what defines that exactly?

if anyone says bicentennial man i'm going to scream.

i think that could be a cool movie...might be a stretch to make it cronenbergish.

Cronenberg's films all usually have some sort of disease subtext to them (best example is his greatest film The Fly). thats probably the most common theme in them so mabey go in that direction.

Why don't you go for something more original?

It's not that I want to steal one of his plots. I just would like to make a film in the same genre. I used Cronenberg as a refernece, seeing that I don't think that that genre has a true name.

I'm not really in tune with cronenberg. I've seen the Limey and Out of Side, both of which were really good, but I don't see his style from those examples. If you haven't seen the Limey, go rent it. It's freaking nuts. Terrence Stamp is a bad ass in it. He's all loud and angry. "My name's Wilson!"
