I want to direct a short film with martial arts in it. I would like it to run 25min to 35min long. No real good ideas have come to mind for me, but if anyone has any, I'd like to hear them.

Also, I would love to do something along the lines of Dragon Ball Z, Crouching Tiger -Hidden Dragon, Tai Chi Master and The Matrix.

Thanks guys.

Kung-fu master was really no master.
He or she has discovered that using a cyberdeck will allow them to pull things from the computer world to the real life.
The cyberdeck is the part that allows them to attach their brains to the computers. When attached you can download things like combat skills. Not only can they learn them in the computer laungaue but in the real world almost making them unstoppable. Able to counterattack every punch, grab, and kick thrown at them.

Swords and blades added with those types of arts make it really neat. To master a sword is one thing but to take down a person who used the sword would be outstanding.
I'd say you should go for a older class one. Maybe the most deadly weapon would be a muzzle loading musket that would be shot by the pulling of a cable unstead of a trigger.
Anyhow have fun kick each other...

Hmmm, I think I would like to do something more charactor driven and avoid Sci-Fi.

The story I've kicked around is pretty simple. When a man gets killed, his two sons (One blood, One adopted) go after his killer. The conflict starts when the two brothers have different ideas on how to bring in the killer. The adopted son wants to bring the killer to justice to serve life. The birth son wants this man dead. I have them fight each other to decide who gets their way. The fight is an over the top Kung-Fu scene (Dragon Ball Z, Matrix) I have no begining and no end, but thats a story I've been meaning to try an develop.

Kalabor - Thanks
Magnus - Wires are a given.

How about making the adopted son discover that his birth father is the man that they are trying to hunt down and capture/kill. That could add a good twist to the story...

Deaf to Reason - Hey, I like that idea.

Reminds me of Desperado, but go ahead. I would make a story about the world not being real, and these vampire looking guys come and run across the walls and stuff... wait, no.

I recommend a story about a bunch of lumberjacks who try to cut down a forest, and the green tree nymphs who are also ninjas. It'd be a kick ass sequel to Ferngully.

hey goku, i hope to a dragon ball z style movie sometime soon. If you make a kung- fu style film, i would to kick but to keep the powers like Kamehameha in it. maybe do a film about a person trying to train in martial arts, then at the end the person could get into a real fight, and use his/her techniques.

red chris,

As of now, me and and a friend are making a live action version of a Jap Anime film we like. Or well, a teaser trailer of what it would be like if they made the film live action. Then I'll be directing a short 25min long dark drama / romance.

After that I want to do a kung-fu film. The story I posted is one of two stories I've been trying to develop. The fight scenes in the film will be very Dragon Ball Z like. My brother and I have already shot some tests of how we could do the over the top martial art scenes. They all came out pretty cool. We even did one of him doing the Kamehamehe move.

My brother really wants me to do a Dragon Ball Z short, but I at least want to try and do an original story with original charactors. As best I can any way.

Have you been thinking of doing a Dragon Ball Z short?

I'm going to start writing this short this week. Any one have any more ideas to throw at me?
