How would one do that effect in gladiator where the fil;m begins to get jumpy. They aslo do it in a fightscene in face off.

Face/Off? I don't think it was used in that. You might be confusing it with plain old slo mo.

face/off? that effect is not really john woo's style...i think. yeah, as mentioned before, could just be slow mo.

yeah, this was discussed a few times before. some suggestions were:

using different shutter speeds
using lens filters

and hell, you could always play around with it in your video editor.

yea, i think it's just slo-mo too. if you want to do it on your computer, just make sure to turn off frame blending.
