So, if I have 1 camera, a boom mike, and editing software, how do I put the sound on the scenes using the boom mike?

different possibilities. if your cam got a mic-jack, you can simply plug it in there. my suggestion : use a portable dat-recorder or minidisc recorder. then you transfer iot to the puter thru your soundcard or capture card, and put the audiofile into your Premiere/msp/whatever session. beware in order to sync the sound right, you need to get a clap (so you see the peak of the clapsound in the sound file, and can align it to the clap in the video).
