I'm looking for a way to animate cross hairs over top of video. I have macromedia flash so I can import stills but I can't get it to let me import a video to animate over. Are there any other programs that I could use? or I'm I missing something in Flash? thanks |

Heres my 2 cents,Screw flash. Make a new picture file (in say, photoshop) Have the crosshair graphic be black with solid white or even better blue as the other area where the video shall go. Stick it in premiere or that other apple editor (whats it called? "Final Slit" or something?) and transperency that baby over your other video. Easy as pie, hit me with another one. |

i wouldn´t key it at all. if you do it in PS, you can make the invisible part simply transparent, and save it as a psd-file. aftereffects and premiere, and most other proggies will read PSD files incl. the transperancy. rest is of course right. simply do a motion path for the cross-hair clip. |

Thanks, that should work well. What if I want to put a box at the intersection of the two lines and have it size down to "lock on" to a target? |

Flash is NOT a video compositing program - it is intended for interactive animations that are very compact so as to download quickly. This is like peeling potatoes with a fork - there's nothing wrong with the fork, it simply isn't designed for the task. ------------------ Jeff F - Moderator Magic and FX Amazing the Masses |
