I have downloaded just one side of a borg cube. I was going to use it by copying it, and making the remaining five sides to complete the cube. I'm using 3D Studio Max R3. How do I make copies of this side, and move them into position. After the sides are in position, How do I tell max to make it into one object. Also, I have a model of the Enterprise, the saucer, body and engines are seperate pieces. How do I combine these parts into one mesh? |

if i remember correctly, to copy something, just hold shift as you click and drag the object that is there, and the 2nd appears, then just rotate it to fit the sides.i think you can group objects with the GROUP menu i think. its been a while. |

an easier way is to go ahead and make a cube in MAX, and in the material editor make a six-sided material. just make the first material the bitmap you want, then drag it into the other 5 slots and hit either instance or copy each time.------------------ Monkey Sea Entertainment ------------------------- Moviemakers Portal (moviemaking-only search engine) |

or do a basic map, apply it to the cube, and apply an uvw-map modifier. instead of the regular projection-methods, choose "face-map". this will make max to map the image into all faces once. and voila. you got it. | |
