I have downloaded just one side of a borg cube. I was going to use it by copying it, and making the remaining five sides to complete the cube. I'm using 3D Studio Max R3. How do I make copies of this side, and move them into position. After the sides are in position, How do I tell max to make it into one object. Also, I have a model of the Enterprise, the saucer, body and engines are seperate pieces. How do I combine these parts into one mesh?

if i remember correctly, to copy something, just hold shift as you click and drag the object that is there, and the 2nd appears, then just rotate it to fit the sides.

i think you can group objects with the GROUP menu i think.

its been a while.

an easier way is to go ahead and make a cube in MAX, and in the material editor make a six-sided material. just make the first material the bitmap you want, then drag it into the other 5 slots and hit either instance or copy each time.

or do a basic map, apply it to the cube, and apply an uvw-map modifier. instead of the regular projection-methods, choose "face-map". this will make max to map the image into all faces once. and voila. you got it.
