we are producing a movie that contains all the stuff like cgi, reallife shots, compositing etc. Now the modelling almost finished we thought to grab in DV/PAL that is 720*576. Well, the whole movie would be about 5 min length, but the compositing and cgi and stuff just takes tooo much space. Now what would you say. The movie has to play fullscreen from CDR. Should we take half PAL/VCD or half PAL/mpeg2 or SVCD (i dont like that much) or just 480x384 mpeg2 (thats what i use now because of good quality and small storage, you know the 2-gig-prob).Hmmmmm, hope someone understood whats this about...thanks for help. _____________ - stellarid - |

If you want to play it only on a computer, compress it in DivX;-). It compresses extremely well and you can even make interactive menus just like a DVD! If you want to be able to play it on a TV, I'd go for mpeg2.Good luck! |

I assure you Jeerome, it plays on the TV perfectly. That's the way I export to video currently, as 'print to video' screws up BADLY. You don't need to compress it to MPEG2, unless of course you want it to run on a DVD player.. and I'm not even sure that it would work straight like that, either.Muncher. ------------------ "When there's no more room in hell, the dead shall walk the Earth." - Peter, Dawn of the Dead. | |
