Remember the /(crappy) tv series called automan. Well his costume had a strange glow or something? anyway i am after that concept, wanting to make a power suit, having panels glow..A prop would not be suitable computer needed..anyideas... i though about using blue panels and replacing them latter with some freaky moving background... what do you think., |

Automan was done with UV lights (black lights). I don't know exactly what colours they used, but all the pin strips on his suit were made to glow by hitting them with UV light. There are a couple of shots in The Fifth Element (just before Leloo is reasembled) that use UV light. They even had special contact lenses to make their eyes glow. You might be able to do the same kind of thing with Scotch Light tape (not Scotch tape ). Scotch Light reflects light back in the direction it came from. If you put a light next to the camera lens then light will bounch off the tape and back into the lens. This is the same stuff used on traffic signs. In Terminator 2 when Arnie shows up in his time bubble, the glowing edges of the truck were done with Scotch Light paint and a light source with a dimmer. |
