How exactly do you paint muzzle flash onto the film or whatever. By the way, I don't own photoshop, but I might get it. Is there anything easier or cheaper to use that works maybe even better for like muzzle flashes and stuff. Thanks for any replies.

In order to create muzzle flashes in Photoshop you need to export your clip as .flm in Premiere. Then open the .flm file in Photoshop and go to the frame you would like to add the flash and just paint it. You just use the paint brush and paint a flash, play with the colors and transparency till it looks good.

You could also get a clip of a muzzle flash on a matte (there will be on my site soon) and key the matte out in Premiere and just place it where you want it. It should last about 1 or 2 frames.

Hope this helps.
