Here's my solution: Deal with it. Otherwise, go take out a mortgage on your every possesion to buy a new lens.Isaiah ------------------ Isaiah, "Sound Guy" Eyre www.iEyre.com |

yea, lenses are hard to replace. the only way i know of fixing one is to sand it down to where the scratch is no longer there, but then the lens's width is now changed and no longer works the same. if it's a fixed lens (like on a video camera, it can't be removed), then you're pretty much screwed; you need a new camera. if it's a removable lens, well, you're still screwed; lenses cost anywhere from $20 used to $2000 new (depending on length, width, etc.). i'd look around ebay or the used section in a camera store for a replacement lens.------------------ Monkey Sea Entertainment ------------------------- Moviemakers Portal (moviemaking-only search engine) |

There are a few things that can be done if it's not that bad. Nothing you could do yourself, you'd have to take it to a professional. It would be VERY expensive! Sometimes as much as buying a new lens. Protect your lens at all costs. It's almost more important than your camera. |

Prevent it!!Buy a UV filter that fits over your lens, to protect it from scratches. Dale Jenner |

Good idea, Dale (Jenner)! Wish I'd thought of that. Better than a lens cap!Isaiah ------------------ Isaiah, "Sound Guy" Eyre www.iEyre.com |
