well what did you get with camera? Lenses? Tripod? Get a lense cleaning kit as soon as you can they aren't expensive, and they help keep your lense in top shape  |

All I have is a camera, editor, 3 lens, and a lens cleaning kit. I have a tripod but I don't know if it will work with the old bolex. oh, and a case.-Chase |

well a working camera lense and film are pretty much all the basic equipment you need to start doing stuff... |

Welcome to the wonderful world of film! You made the right descision! It sounds like all you need now is some film and maybe a good book on shooting. Oh, do you have a lightmeter? You'll need one! |

you now only need film and if you want it, some form of sound recording setup. watch the movie bowfinger for some ideas.------------------ those who live by the sword get shot by those who dont. did superman name himself? check my site NOViCE Pictures |

Every camera and tripod I have ever seen uses 1/4 - 20 thread, available at any hardware store.

You realize don't you that the H8 is an 8mm camera, not 16mm. |

Actor, some camera use a 3/8 thread, so he'd need to get an adapter. They are only a couple of bucks though. |

I never saw Bowfinger, but I wouldn't use a movie as a guide. Unfortunatly, the camera you bought cannot, I repeat CANNOT, record sync sound. That is, film people talking and record people talking at the same time. But never fear! That's OK, you'll have enough to learn anyway. Besides, movies aren't about people talking, there about pictures. You can certinly get a good sound recorder and record sound effects, music or narration and splice it in where ever you want on your mag stock. That's how millions of movies are made...just not the one's you usualy see. |
