Well, the cables that hook my DVD player up to my TV are the same kind that hook my VCR to my TV. ..So I would think that if you had a video projector that required you to hook up a VCR via cables, you could hook up a DVD player to it instead.I think... ------------------ Mr. Hutt -defender of neenerheads |

arrrrrg the same projector you use to project your vcr can be used to project a dvd player... the projector is just like a tv that instead of using a screen projects the image just make sure you're not trying to hook a pal formal dvd player up to an ncst format projector hehe sheeesh I do this stuff for a living :-P |

I do this all the time and it works fine.I would recommend hooking your S-video cable to the projector instead of RCA cables though. You get a big difference in video quality. Those projectors are very expensive though. I am lucky enough to have a bunch of them at work and they let me take one home when ever I want. The one I use cost around $10,000 cdn. We have Proxima, In Focus, and Sanyo models. Personally I like the Sanyo. Also make sure you use a screen instead of a wall, the picture will be much clearer. I bought a large pull down blind from Walmart and it works great. And finally, I buy all my horror DVDs from Amazon or Blackest Heart media. If Zombie movies is what you are looking for, I would highly recommend getting Lucio Fulci's The Beyond. They have a limited edition collectors tin (20,000 copies) with lots of goodies. Get it quick though because its a very popular item. |

I work at an audio visual company called MCSI, and one of the main things we rent out are video projectors. Most have a bunch of different kinds of inputs on them. The smallest ones we carry have one or two normal RCA video inputs, a S-Video input, and one or two 15 pin computer inputs. The bigger ones almost always have BNC (a coaxial video cable compatible with RCA. not to be mistaken with the threaded RF connector on VCRs and TVs. NOT COMPATIBLE!!!) and usually RGB (three cables for red, green, and blue). Like the others have said, there is no reason why a DVD player wouldn't work with a standard video projector. I bring one home from work a lot to throw parties and such in my apartment, and I've never had a problem with playing DVDs (video games are highly cool as well). Proxima was mentioned as a provider. I use these the most and highly recommend them. Other good brands are Sharp, Sony, Eiki, and Barco. I've never used a Sanyo, but I have used an In Focus, and I'm not a big fan. There are a lot of A/V companies like MCSI, so there is probably one somewhere close in your area. Screens are also very cheap to rent, depending on what size you get. I recently did a show at the Fedex hub here in Memphis where we hung a 22 1/2 by 30 foot screen from the ceiling of an aircraft hangar and projected video on it with a Digital projector about the size of my Volkswagen, but you probably don't need anything that extravagant. Hope this helped!------------------ Andrew Simpson Big Hurt Productions |

Are you talking about the one-piece sets, if so, I highly doubt it. My suggestion is hook up a DVD player to a projector or TV, pop some popcorn, and enjoy the show!
