Do all tripods fit all cameras? I have an old tripod for my big vhs camcorder, will it fit a 8mm camcorder? |

Almost all tripods use a universally sized screw- there are two sizes and every camera I've used takes usually both sizes |

keep in mind, it's not the the tripod that fits onto the camera, it's the tripod HEAD, which in some cases is sold separately.------------------ Monkey Sea Entertainment ------------------------- Moviemakers Portal (moviemaking-only search engine) |

Tripod head screws are either 3/4 or 5/8 (I think it's 5/8 but I don't remember for sure) in any case most new tripods have head screws that are 3/4 but if you need to you can buyba little adapter for only a couple of dollars. |

I have an old tripod from about 1952 that fits my 8mm film camera. It also fit every camcorder I've ever owned or borrowed (a dozen or so). I don't use it anymore because it is unstable under the weight of some of my larger cameras, but it is easier to use a tripod built for a large camera with a small camera rather than vice-verse.ADOM PS Velbon makes some very affordable tripods which are durable and effective. |
