I read that sometime in 2001 new camcorders will be released that use miniDVD ( about 8cm) instead of a tape. I was wondering if anyone knows more about this. I heard the first generation of those camcorders is already out in Japan. If you won`t need a capture card anymore (miniDVDs can be read like normal DVDs), would not those camcorders be better than those with tape ?

i posted about this a while back.
it was in a popular science mag.

i dont think they will be much better than tape.
at least not right away.
