There is a spider in my camcorder. (Canon GL1) I noticed that there was a web behind the lens, and probably one of the tiniest spiders I have ever seen in my life.Does anyone know how I can safely open the lens and clean out the web, or will I have to get it serviced? |

that's funny. i would try submerging the entire camera in water, drowning the *******.no really, though, call customer support. take the camera back, say its defective. [This message has been edited by FXMan (edited 01-08-2001).] |

was the spider in there when it was brand new or has it been sitting in a closet for a while? because if it has, I don't think you can take it back since it's not their fault that the spider got in it.------------------ Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication--Leonardo da Vinci, used in an early Apple Computer ad |

Dude, he didn't say anything about taking it back. I'm sure Canon would glady service it. If you have a warranty on it, see if it covers weird things like spiders stuck in the lense. Otherwise, I'm sure they could still fix it, only they might charge you for it. There are too many bugs here.I'll find someone to service it. I'll probably need an exterminator, too.
