Hey all again. For those who haven't yet seen my other post about the Win98 CD in this forum, please check it out, as I am in desparate need of those files. Thanks! Now, on to the subject of this post - I'm chucking my AIW 128, and I need a new card. I was originally going to pick up the Matrox G400-TV, but after price shopping I've found that it's just too damn expensive. So, rather than get that card, I'm thinking I'll get the Studio DC10+ for video capture and export, and for a general 2D/3D card I'll get the VooDoo 3 3000. I've heard good things about this card but am wondering if it'll work with the DC10+. Anyone have one?

i do! i do!it's pretty sweet for a 16 meg card. i love it. out of all the cards i've have used, anything 3dfx with a voodoo chipset (i've owned 2 and used about 10 other cards, from savage chipsets, to nvidia) has given me the best performance, and NO headaches. i hihgly recommend it BD, it will work. i am using it and an ATI tv card (which is what i use to capture) and i have no problems, so i see no reason why your setup shouldnt work. |

Thanks for the reply! One follow-up: just to make sure, it is a 2D/3D card, right? Like it's not a 3D only card, right? |

Yeah, 2d and 3d. I used to have one, but it blew up... literally. My computer popped and smoke started coming out the top. Scared the beejesus out of me! Unfortunately, not only the card got destroyed, but also the whole mother board. This won't be a problem for you, though. RIP Voodoo 3 3000 card! |

It's a good card to cheaply increase performance and another good thing is almost everything supports it. |

As to what caused it is still a mystery, and remains so to this day... (cue spooky wolf howl) |

I really like my 3dfx card. I am really curious to see what happens now that 3dfx is history. If you didn't know, Nvidia bought them out for $70 million. Not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing.
