has anyone ever tried installing the studioDV and the DC10 in the same computer? did you have any success? i dont think it would work only because they both prolly have to be in the bus master slot of the motherboard... would be interesting to try though... the problem is im not interested in paying a grand for something that does both 1394 and composite and comes bundled with software that your paying for, when ive already spent plenty of money on software , and all i need are the cards...

It's funny that you ask this question. Just last week I bought a Studio DV and I also have a Studio DC10 in my computer. Both are installed and I do not notice any conflicts with the two. However the Studio DV does not work with Premiere 5.1, so I'm stuck with the DC10 till 6.0 comes out.

when you say the studioDV "doesnt support premiere 5.1" what exactly do you mean? are you saying that you cant import video captured with the studioDV into premiere? or that you just cant run the capture utility from inside premiere?

thanks..

I have not tried capturing with Premiere. What I do is capture in the Studio DV program and import the AVI. The video from the Studio DV will show up in the Premiere Timeline, however the audio does not work, in addition Premiere 5.1 does not support the Studio DV CODEC.
