The latest issue of Computer Arts has Merlin VR as freeware on the companion CD.Anyone try this program out yet? I know it is a basic piece of 3D software, but it did formerly sell for $99 and they claim the real time rendering engine isn't bad. i got merlin vr with a video card i bought originally, which turned out to be complete trash, so i took it back. i must say, i didn't like it very much. i've used quite a few 3d programs going through my multimedia program at my high school, and i rate this waaaay below ray drea studio 5. not a very good proggie.  |

i agree here. the full version (pro version? ) called Merlin3d, is quite okay. still the best part of it is, that it comes with Lightworks wich is a cool radiosity/raytracing renderer. | |
