any camera that has good contrast and exposure controls. you want smooth, non-grainy exposure and color saturation to do good keying.

DV is a great format, because if you have lots of light, you will be sure there will b no grains interfering with the blue screening process.
Be sure that there are no shaddows (use multiple lamps to achieve that).

Good luck!!

Well, actually DV is not really suited for blue screen. It's because of the compression. If you take a frame of DV footage and export it as an uncompressed image (.bmp) you can then take it into photoshop and examine it up close. You will see that there is a red fringe bordering your forground image. This fringe is caused by something that I do not completely understand but it has to do with the way that DV compresses images. You get the same thing if you produce a series of color bars in photoshop then save the image as a .jpg. The compression will sort of average the colors together at any point where two seperate solid colors meet. I don't know if any of this is making any sense but it is true. Compressed video (or still images) do not handle pure color seperation very well. The good news is that you can still do bluescreen shots with DV but you have to make certain allowances. If your bluescreen is not lit very well you will not be able to hold onto fine edge detail. The composite will be a little bit sharper around the edges than if you used a well lit bluescreen thus making the foreground object look like it was cut and pasted. There are many little tricks you can use to pull off bluescreen shots with DV but you still have to be aware of the limitations. If you understand the process very well then you will be able to do DV bluescreen shot that involve cigarette smoke or even clear beer bottles and they will turn out just fine but you really do have to understand what is required to make that kind of magic happen.
