Ok, I have the sound blaster PLATINUM card, and I was just wondering what to use to get your custom sound into your computer? Like a tape recorder on a mic? What? If a tape recorder is the only option then im screwed.

You can hook up any sound source you want to your card.

What are you trying to do?

actually, you have a soundblaster live 5.1 card, just like me. but you decided to spend an extra 100 bucks to have the front side interface.

anyhow, there are five options. cassette recording, minidisc recording, mp3 recording, camcorder recording, and DAT recording.

to record voice overs or sound effects youll need a microphone (real one , not a computer mic) , and a preamp to amplify the signal into the line in of your sound card..
