Okay, for a shot i want to do an actor looks straight ahead for a while then his eye twitchs around without the other one moving. Now, I'm sure there's other ways to do this, howevre I'd really like to do it like this:1. shoot the actor staring 2. shoot the actor moving his eye 3. cut out the spot on his twitchy eye and overlap it on the starring footage I have no idea how to cut out a peice of film and over lap it on another. I could easily do this with a still, but with full motion, I dunno. I have 3d max, flash 4, premiere 5, and photoshop 5.5 to work with. I guess I could do it via filmstrip, but that's a whole lotta complicated. Is there an easier way??? thanks |

I have MSP so it isn't exactly the same way.You have to make a matte (black and white), white being where there eye is, and black the rest. This should be a still image at the same resolution as the video footage. In Premiere, put on the 1rst track the actor starring. On the track for bluescreening and similar stuff, put the vide where the actor is moving his eye. Now use alpha channel (instead of bluescreen), saying that you will use a matte. The matte will be the picture you made. Well SAFilms, that is the basics. Just wait for a guy who uses Premiere to fill in my missing gaps. Good luck!! |

The way I would do it would be to lay down the track of the actor staring, then lay the video track of the actor's twitching eye in the second video track. Crop the footage of the twitching eye, and then place it over the staring eye using the video motion options. It might work, the problem with Premiere is that you can't easily make small adustments as to where you place the cropped video, as you could with something like Final Cut Pro. Also, the acotr's head must not move at all (possibly using a brace) and the camera must not move either. |

well, i did this a while ago. I shot a stil image of my head, then shot a video clip of me moving me right eye. Then I but a big blue circle on the still image and bluescreened it to the moving eye shot. That works in theory, but there was a dark line I couldn't ge trid of around the eye. | |
