i heard that there's a premier 6 coming out in a little while. i don't really check out new versions much or anything, i just got this info from a friend. is this true? i was about to buy premier 5.5 but if 6 is coming out i'll wait. also, (if it's actuallycoming out soon) do you think it will drop the price of premier 5.5 right away and by how much? thanx.

Well, I'd assume that even if you bought Premiere 5.1 (and yes, it's 5.1 not 5.5) then you could upgrade it from Adobe' website ( www.adobe.com ) for free when 6.0 comes out.

i meant 5.1, (i was thinking of photoshop). i dunno if there will be an upgrade free cause when version 5 came out there wasn't an upgrade from 4, was there? if there is an upgrade for free, i'm assuming it will not drop the price but if there is no upgrade and you must buy them separatly, what does everyone predict about the price drop (if any)?

There was an upgrade from Adobe Premiere V 4.2 to 5.0/5.1 but it wasn't for free. But it was hell of a lot cheaper than just buying the 5.x

If I where you I'd buy the 5.1 right away and upgrade later (if you're planning on buying that Adobe-crap later).
