It seems that I read somewhere about the matrox cards and premier not liking each other. Try their data base http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/topissuespre.htm maybe you can find something there.Make sure you have the latest version 5.1c, as there many issues that are fixed.

You should also make sure you have the latest and greatest drivers for the card, as well as every componet in your system.

Best of Luck

Are you sure its freezing? When it gets to EPS Importer it takes a while sometimes. It has takin 10min+ sometimes for me to get past that part.

If you leave it for 5min then shut it down, try leaving it for like 15. it should load.

Marvel G200 works fine with Premiere. Do what the Edgeman said: get Premiere 5.1c, Powerdesk 5.41, and Video Tools 1.52. Here is a useful sight for your friend: www.matroxusers.com

I had a very similiar problem with mine. It was VERY annoying because I had to re-install it every time. It would work the first time but the second time it would freeze. I fixed mine by closing all those floating windows (the transitions and such) the first time I launched Premiere. It worked fine after that as long as they weren't there at startup.
I hope that fixes it.
