ok, whenever i try to export a video, it crashes when i get to "less than a minute" tonite i lost three hours worth of work.

I don't know what's wrong... but if you would have saved every couple minutes and saved again before you exported that would have never happened.

i really want to compress it to a small file so i can upload it, 50 megs for a 1:32 minute clip is way too big. and the part about me losing my stuff is my fault, i should have saved. at least i didnt lose my cgi effects

What codec are you outputting to? Make sure that "Open Finished Movie?" is turned off in the render settings dialog box. (some video cards mpeg/M-jpeg, etc. use the same chip for compression and decompression so if you have your project open plus the finished movie opens, it can crash- showing the "less than a minute" box right before that.
Also be sure that you have enough disk space. Try rendering just the first 10 seconds of your project. Does the same thing happen?

Update to windows 2000. Just about any pc will never crash ever again.....even in premiere (believe me I know).

i think i may have figured it out, im exporting right now, so im not sure, but i think it was the audio. i captured at 22khz, but i was trying to export at 44khz. that might have done it. ill tell ya if it works.

ok, i found out that it was just the vid that im working on now, part of the project is corrupt, now all i have to do is try and fix that part. thanx for all your help. also, what compression settings should i use to get a good quality clip that i can put on tape that looks good, (ie not pixilated)
