Muzzle flares in photoshop
I just discovered how easy it is to make realistic muzzle flares on your computer. Use photoshop to paint the flares on some imported frames (if you are editing video on your computer). Export those frames back to your editor, play 'em back, and you got realistic looking flares. Dont forget though that dramatic context and good sound effects will make these flares effective.

Think someone already did that but it was quite a while ago. Anyway it is good to see you can figure things out for yourself instead of relying on other people.
