Topic: Exporting DV with Premiere

Ok so I got a new G4 system and I am running Premiere 5.1. I can get video in either by my capture card or by the firewire input. I can print to video from the capture card, however I don't know how to export back to DV through the Firewire connection. My camera HAS an input, but I have yet to find an option with Premiere to get it out with the firewire.
Can anyone help??? |

render the movie with the DV codec.------------------

hey feederbird- can i borrow your system?  man a g4- is it as fast as they promise it is? how long was your segment that you edited, and how long did it take to render all of your effects? (i want to compare it to the pIII 550 i use at work, 'cause i'm getting my own system in the next few months, and want to know if g4 is the way to go. i am sure that it is different on your system, but on mine you need to make your timeline into a quicktime movie, and then you export using the firewire card's proprietary software, a program that plays quicktime files directly into the camera. this might not work, but maybe it will help if nothing else does! |

Well I have not had a chance to do any time tests yet. I have been editing too much. I do love the system. I cna't stand PC's anymore, I just love the Mac. The main reason I got one was seeing how bad premiere ran on my frineds PII PC systems. My problem is the Firewire card is built in to the system and I have no software to work with. anyone know where I can get some MAC based Firewire software????? | |
