I'd like to know the differences between PSP and Photoshop. What features do they have, which one is eaasier to use, which one do you suggest?
Thanks

Ive used both programs before and I chose PSP. PSP(6) is much easier and quicker to use, there are more options and filters etc..
PSP also is MUCH better if you use the 'layers' option alot, especially for lightsaber scenes I made a 30 second saber clip once that only took me 1 hour to edit! THATS FAST!

PSP6 can be gotten free off the internet at www.jasc.com for 30 days, the actual program to buy costs less than photoshop.

I reccomend PSP6

I personally like Photoshop. It and Premiere are from the same company, Adobe, so you know that they are compatible with each other. Also, it is the benchmark for 2D image editing. Most profesionals use it. It took me about an hour of experimenting to learn all the tools of it, and they're great. It is very powerful and has more features than any other program I've seen. It's great!

I prefer Photoshop... its a personal taste thing... You might want to try the Corel alternative as well...

I also culdnt do without "Photogenics".. but thats an Amiga program that looks like Photoshop but works completly differently.. it has so many applications youwould probably only dream about (it even works like the Quantel system so you can use the previuos frames to paint out wires etc flawlessly)... But uless you have a large professional Amiga video system you will have to wait untill it is ported to LINUX (though I am still trying to convince the creator to go to Windows too).

Get and use as many good programs you can.. become proficient in all... then you can use the tols you need from each.

Normally I would recommend Micrografx's iGrafx(originally Picture Publisher series) but two reasons hamper it now. Micrografx has made a few poor business decisions and I'm not sure how long they can survive. Also iGrafx does not support filmstrip files which many of you use.

If you don't need to edit filmstrip files iGrafx wins in my view. It comes with many features that Photoshop needs plugins for. It costs the same as PSP but I find it easier to use. I have used all three extensively and I really I believe iGrafx is the best.

Thanks all for your posts...
I guess I'll try the evaluations of the programs to have my idea of the programs.
