why does adobe premiere always want to save averything as a project file, how can i save a movie as some other kind of file (i.e. filmstrip file)

Hi,

premiere will only save projects and layouts as project files.

if you want to put the movie in a specific format, you need to export it.

Or you can select one clip (or several by moving the yellow top bar thingy around the certain clips) and go,
Make>Movie
then you will find all the option you are looking for. If you are making filmstrips, make sure you're only getting what you NEED. Filmstrip files are pretty big.

The reason why is because only the Premiere Project file will save all of the settings that can changed in Premiere. If you are going to make a filmstrip when you reimport back in you will have to reimport into the project you exported out of or start a new project.
