I recently tried to use a quick time video clip - the star wars trailer in a premiere project.
Because the project is 4:3, and the clip is at 2.35:1 (Cinescope) I set it to "Maintain original aspect ratio". This adds black bars to the top and bottom of the project, however the video clip still appears, at the bottom of the screen, so half the picture is obscured by the bottom bar, and where the top half should be is white!

I have tried to solve this by moving the clip under the motion settings, but the only way I could get it to work was by showing it at 4:3, and distorting the image by squashing it top and bottom tot he correct aspect!

Is there anyway to solve this?????

just change the project settings so that the aspect ratio of the entire project is 2.35:1

All times are ET (US)
