my cousin just got a new version of premier and gave me his old one...version 5.0. anyway it was just like on a disk. no cd or anything. i dunno if i'm just stupid or if the setting's are wrong or if it's just like a crappy version but i can only save as a ppi file. is that normal? it's the full version as far as i can tell, everything seems to be there. also, i've done all my editing linear so far so i really don't know much about non linear editing...i'm just experimenting with video clips i already have on the cpu. in otherwords, i need a capture card. if anyone has details on where i can get a pretty cheap, decent one, let me know. thanx. skippy |

How many disks was it and what is newer than version 5???I have the latest version which is 5.1(maybe 5.2) and it is at least 40MB. You might be missing something or have an older version. |

Oh, about your problem with only saving as project files. You are saving the project (what you see) If you want one big clip of your finished movie, highlight it all with that strechable thingy at the top and go Make > Movie then you can set perameters, it will work for a minute or two, then you will have a completed movie. (once you are done, delete project files and preview files, as they are no longer needed once you have the completed movie) |
