I've got a few weeks to figure out how to get a shot of a guy getting electrocuted in his bathtub. Any suggestions are much appreciated. |

Youll have to be more specific. What do you need, electric sparks and voltage lightning type stuff?I had an idea, you could take an old stereo or appliance you dont want/need and plug it into an outlet plate thats been affixed to the wall (not an actual outlet just the plate) and it would look like it was actually plugged into the wall. Then you could safely drop it into the bathtub with the person in it. And they could shake and scream and do their thing ya know. |

You'd probably wann gut the radio or whatever first, just to avoid any juice from any capacitors that are still live. |

I don't know what you have. If you got Premiere and Photoshop, filmstrip file it, and add in some fake electrical bolts. If you got nothing, heck, just flick some bright directional lights on and off really quick while aiming at him. You know, if you were to really get electrocuted in the tub, all it would look like is a jolt by the guy and he's out. Possibly a quick zap and spark from the wall. You don't have to get real theatrical. |

It takes tremendous amounts of electricity to over come the resistance of air - the "dancing blue lightning bolt/web" that we see so often in film is fine for fantasy or someone being zapped by a 50,000 watt radio broadcasting tower, but out of place for a bathtub electrocution. Artistic license and audience expectation allows you to exaggerate a bit, but filmboy is right, don't overdo it. Blowing a bit of smoke/fog across the water should add to the effect as well.------------------ Jeff F - Magic and FX Amazing the Masses
