Hi Foxfurr,

You could always do what they did for jurassic park etc. Get a whole bunch of differnt animal sounds, birds, dogs, lions etc. And play around with them mix them together reverse some and then mix them up till you get the noise that you want.

You could have some great fun by making those sounds yourself. Make a recording where you roar or growl, and then slow it down or lower the pitch. Apply some filters/echo effects etc.

I tried slowing down a sound recording of one of my friends screaming and growling, and the result was simply impressive! Sounded like some 5 ton predator!
