In the movie that i'm about to make, the killer has a weapon that is retractable from his arm. Sort of like with guns that you see sometimes in movies that can retract out so they can grab it. But it will go on the top of his arm with a button of some sorts on his palm to retract the blade. The problem is that i can get it to come out but i can't get it to go back in when the killer is done killing. Hard to explain the weapon in words, when it comes of from under his clothes it stays on the track that it is put on. Any suggestions on how to make the thing go back in without having to do it by hand would help. Thanks............. |

well you could use the old magicians trick where you'd hook fishing wire from one arm around the actors back down his sleeve to the base of the object. When he wants to retract the blade he just extends the one arm, and the blade is pulled back up... Hope that wasn't too confusing ;P |

How about cutting to a closeup shot of the arm/weapon, record a scene of the weapon coming out, and then reverse it?Just don't fall into the "Batman & Robin" syndrome, and reverse the exact same shot that your audience just saw. ------------------ TL daa Productions Nobody lives forever, so you might as well go out with a good caffeine buzz... There's always hope, because it's the one thing that they haven't figured out how to kill yet...

I don't know if this is possible with the rig you have, but could you just mount the track backwards on the actor's arm and rotate the weapon 180 degrees, so that it retracts when triggered.

I know this is late, and may not be read, but could you use a spring loaded shaft that will return to rest when a latch (button) is pressed? |
