Where can I (if anywhere) find toy M-16's, or at least fake one's that look good? Thanks.

Check out airsofts. (there are a lot of sites out there. a place I have purchased from before is:
www.747imports.com

They are very accurate replicas. With current federal restrictions, you will need to do something about the brazen orange paint on the end of the barrel.

The site mentioned in the post before is very expensive, there are places that are so much cheaper! Just go to a search engine and search for Airsoft Guns.

I hadn't been there in a while - the other poster is right - currently their prices are high.

although ording airsoft from outside the country is the only way to get them "really" cheap - there are other companies that sell for less.

(when I bought from them, which was now about 8 or so months ago, their prices were in line with the rest of the industry. I don't know why they seem to have kept higher prices as others prices have gone down)

Not quite as realistic as the airsofts but only cost me 6 bucks from a swap meat. It is a toy that is the same size as a real XM177E2 the shorter version of the M-16, and the company is Sun Ta Toys. Everybody that hs seen it in my movies that didn't know I had the toy swore they thought it was real. It just needed some gunmetal paint. I'll find the adress for there site if I can.

Well, it isn't the exact size as an XM177E2, but I can see how it would be convincing to a person who isn't familiar with guns. There are cheaper alternatives to the expensive electric airsofts, they're single action spring ones. They usually run about $150.00 here in the states, but I'm sure you could shop around for one.

For a toy, I went to the local dollar store and picked up a..... Let me check........

Here we go, its a "Police Force M16-R" It is short enough to look fake. It was designed for a little kid. The color is noticably fake. About 2.5 canadian $. I spent from when I got off work at 10 pm one day and stayed up 'til 3 am renovating it. I took an old paint thinner container and cut it out to extend the stock and handle (like a blue downy container). I used cereal boxes as filler to hold shape and used black electrician tape to rap it on. Use imagination and patience. Paint the whole thing black. You may not have a dollar store near you, but any toy store should have it. It's one where you can pull the trig and hear and then see friction sparks in the middle. Oh, and try filling it all with sand so that it feels more heavy.

Good luck, and if you mess up, it's just a dollar or two.
