Hello everybody, DefSlayer and I are going to atempt to make a dragon ball z type of movie with large energy beams and all that good stuff. We have never done anything to this extent except for lightsaber and muzzle blast effects that can be found on http://vfx.mainpage.net We need suggestions on what we could do. Were planning on using strings and harnesses to do arial stunts. If anybody has ever made this kind of movie please post your site. We would love to see it.------------------ Nothing Unreal Exists -Kir-kin-tha's First Law of Metaphysics

Oh man. That's funny. I just finished posting my topic and returned to the board to find your topic which is almost the same as mine! hoo boy. Well I s'pose our questions are diffrent. Yours is about the technical aspect as well. Okay, I will follow this topc closely!Ooh. Idea: Little destructive balls of light! Just use a regular ball when your filming, and in photoshop, use the circular highlighter thingy and pretty much animate it like a saber! (you know, it will be white, with a colored glow...) I bet it would look cool! |

Oh, I have a quick question for YOU. How are you setting up your arial stuff? What kind of equipment are you using? |

We plan on using green screens and/or mountain climbing gear if we can find it.------------------ "There is no spoon..."

A swing can be used for some pretty neat arial stuff. I made some home movies where I would jump off a swing and land right in front of someone who would pretend to push me, but act it backwards so that if you play it backwards it will look like the guy pushes you and you go flying backwards through the air. Don't forget to cut away before you see the swing! I have found that I can jump as high as 10 feet in the air off a swing. Mind you I hit the ground so hard I can't stay in a standing position. Get the camera as low to the ground as possible and point it up. Jump off the swing into camera view. I bet it will look pretty cool.
