Hey, you guys!I'm new here, and that place seems to be pretty damn cool, but as a fright flick director I think it is in need for an own make-up f/x forum! It would be much better not to put topics concerning regular special effects and make-up f/x in one forum. That would make it much clearer for people searching for topics concerning only one of those. |

Yeah, that's right, and that's one reason just why an own forum seems like a good idea to me: You have to search quite some time if you want to find make-up f/x topics. And still, I know there are quite some members who are interested in that. |

If there is sufficient interest, it seems like a reasonable addition to the discussion boards already present.* Have you sent an email to the site adminstrator? * How do you suggest finding a new administrator/webmaster for the new site? * Does Likeastory have room/resources to expand in this way? Until these questions are answered, I suggest you check out the make up board at: http://venus.beseen.com/boardroom/n/16294/ It isn't as cool as Likeastory in general, and the posts aren't as frequent, but the discussion is centered on make up, often SPFX related. ------------------ Jeff F - Magic and FX Amazing the Masses

There is a special effects make-up board. It's at http://beseen4.looksmart.com/boardroom/n/16294/ Some of the regulars here like Big Al and Critter post there too. Be sure to check the Archives on that board too for tons of additional information. |

Some changes are coming to likeastory and yes, I'm game for a make-up section. I may even have a nice little sub-category tool soon. The resource that is most scarce these days is time for the webmaster to code things. I hope to get some new stuff plugged in soon. Thanks for the feedback.------------------ Webmaster Dale (Administrator for Likeastory Forums.)

My opinion is that if someone wanted to know something about make-up, then they'd just ask.Not saying that starting a makeup board is a bad idea or anything. |

I have to agree with JStern on this account. I have been on this board for a few years now and it seems as of late the questions related to SPFX makeup or anything like it, are rarely ever asked. Maybe it's becuase there are sites out there that have these kinds of boards already and you all check those from time to time as well since they are SPECIFIC to makeup and makeup FX. Maybe it's because you've learned all you think you need, to accomplish the makeup effects you might be using in your film work. The questions here of late (like the last year) have MOSTLY been film making related, i..e. scripts, cameras, computer programs for editing, etc., etc. I watch the board and am delighted when a makeup question comes up becuase I know Critter, Big Al, James Rogers or others, including myself, will have a shot at helping someone out with something we know more about than which version of Premier or what capture card is best to use. I am totally illiterate when it comes to those issues but I do have a lot of years in on the makeup end as do the other guys I mentioned. Maybe Dale SHOULD create a separate board for the makeup issues and then people can go there specifically when they need those kinds of answers and leave this board for the technical filming related or computer related questions. Might take some thought but perhaps it is a consideration. Dale.....? Whatcha' think? I know I'd post more if there was something that I knew something about being asked, but it's been rare lately. Ditto, FXMan. I do worry that if there is a "Main" and "Makeup" board, most new people would only vist the "Main" board, but if both are given equal credit at the site it should not be a problem. Cyber |
