Hey SilverbladeX,Not a positive response with information about Canadian makeup supply shops but just an observation. Don't you think this would be a good business idea for you or a few of you all to work toward? Why not start your own shop or online Canadian resource for your mates? It would be a matter of setting yourself up in business and ordering specific quantities perhaps to get dealers discounts or to become exclusive Canadian distributors for some of those products you all would want to use all the time. Might be a lucrative thing to start up and be one of few to offer supplies to your countrymates that way. You ought to consider it. Bound to be a good business for someone there as it always seems that you all can't get things except by having to buy here in the states where your exchange rate is so bad. But being a dealer or an exclusive Canadian distributor even for American made products, you might do well though you'd have to strike a contract with the manufacturers. But worth it if you can't find what you need as easily as we in the US do. Think on it, might be good business for you if you're old enough to start one. Good luck. FXMan |

You know I proabely would actually put up a shop execpt for the one small fact that i'm nly 16 quote:
Notice my last line - I DID say if you're old enough. But Jes is right. Age isn't a factor. If it's something you could make a few bucks on by spending a few bucks, heck even get your parents involved, you could do well. Necessity is the mother of invention. Be creative. Get things that no-one else can as a dealer or distributor and resell them at a profit if you can. Start small. Build it over time. 16 years old isn't a problem. I knew kids at your age who were making money legally by reselling candy bars at school. They'd go to the candy suppliers, buy in bulk inexpensively and charge enough to make a profit so they could buy more. I knew one kid (and I swear this is true) who bought his first car that way. So it CAN be done. Just amounts to whether you want to or not. Besides it was just a suggestion to try to help out you guys in Canada who have such a tough time finding a lot of the product we so readily get here in the US.But good luck anyway. FXMan Moderator

What does age have to do with it? 16 is too young to get proper permits.... but it doesn't stop you from storing and selling small supplies. you can buy latex by the 5 gallon.. and sell it by the liter... I've also heard the complaint that people can't find some basic kitchen products in canada.. you can stock up on corn syrup and gelatin. you could get started with a few hundred dollars american. don't judge yourself by your age, judge yourself by your ability. |
