I would post this in blood and goo or whatever that is called but it doesnt seem like people look at it much so....
I have a character in my upcoming endevor (hmm...spellcheck)who has a power where "ooze" comes out of her pores...there are scenes when it runs down her face and comes out of her hands and whatnot. I am in need of suggestions as to what to make this "ooze" with. If anyone needs specific situational examples i can post or email to them a few parts in the script where tha ooze is involved. any help would be appreciated.

It has to be sticky. there is one scene where tha character sees her paper is wet under her hand-shes in school taking a test-and lifts her hand up and sees sticky stuff...how to explain this hmm...when she lifts her hand up its like tha stuff is still connected to her hand and tha paper...like little i dunno ooze trails or something....i dunno how to explain it. oh...you know when neo stuck his finger in the mirror in tha matrix and when he pulled his hand back tha mirror was still sticking to him hand or finger or whatever? somethig like that.

well, i havent ever used it, but in the burman catalog is a "goo" by the name of ultraslime. could be what you're looking for, but then again, maybe not. find some gumball machines and buy some "slime"

some different possibilities could be methylcellouse for the parts where it just has to flow out of the pores.

i cant think of anything else offhand that would make a good "goo"

the goo from the gumball machines sounds like what you want. It can be made by mixing borax with polymer(then adding food coloring if you like). It should be much cheaper than ultra-slime and still give you what you want. You may have to hunt around a bit. Borax is usually used in detergents if that helps.

Borax and Polyvinyl Alcohol is what ultraslime is made out of. Polyvinyl Alcohol is one of the ingredients in white Elmers glue. If you take a little borax (you can find borax in the laundry detergent isle in your local grocery store) and mix it with water about 50/50 then add a few drops of that to an ounce or two of elmers glue, it will turn to slime. If you want clear slime you will have to go to a chemical supply house and buy some pure Polyvinyl Alcohol (as a powder).

You might want to try a cornstarch solution to see if it gives acceptable results. It may not be what you are looking for visually (goppy butnot crystal clear), but it is readily available and cheap.

Stir plenty of it into warm water, try microwaving it. Coernstarch is neat stuff.

Prior to UltraSLime, methylcellulose was the movie slimeof choice. Used in cooking and food manufacture, you can find it with the yellow pages and some effort. Try restraunt suppliers, food products companies, etc. If that fails head over to the library to look through the Thomas Register or check it online here: http://www.thomasregister.com/
DO the free registration as the CEO of your own company and bookmark that site - an invaluable resource for hunting down almost anything mass produced. A good way of finding local resources of materials when you don't want to mess around with shipping large, heavy amounts of material. You'd be surprised at what you can find in your own backyard sometimes.

I know this thread is a little old, however... The cornflour idea works well. I have made goo in many consistancies with that method.

However, try Arrowroot. It's a little more expensive but the resulting goo it quite a bit more transparent.

Also, as for making it. I find the best method it to heat a some water in a pan on the stove. To add the Arrowroot/cornflower, mix a few spoons into half a cup of cold water until is it a liquid, then add to the hot water while stirring. It will slowly get thicker as it heats. You can remove it from the heat when it reaches the right consistancy. If it isn't thick enough, add more arrowroot using the same method until it is.

Corn Syrup! Its really runny and sticky, if you need a certain color no problem, just use the desired food colouring color, that might work well.

How about going to a Wal-Mart and dropping a couple bucks on some "Star Wars Jabba the Hut Slime" I used to have a jar when it was called Ghostbusters Ectoplasm, and when It was called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutagen.
