In that one recipe for fake blood (1 pint cornsyrup, 1 oz. red food coloring, 2 1/2 tsp. yellow food coloring, 1 drop green food coloring, zinc oxide powder), what is the zinc oxide powder, and do I really need it? If so, where can I get it? Thanks |

I think the recipe you saw was kinda old. Instead of using green food coloring I suggest adding a small amount of brown icing dye. zinc oxide powder is a white powder found at pharmacies. Call around to see who has it. it is an opaquener. There are other things you can use but this is one of the most widely used and best as it does not effect the coloring as much as things like choco syrup and cornstarch. It is also very cheap. I bought 25 grams for 2.50 a while back and it lasted me a LONG time. |
