--all i can find, are heads at Burman FX, and Monster Makers Online. The one at Burman looks a whole lot better to me though. Its $65, and, the one at monster makers is like, 50, i dont really remember. but, the head from monster makers, is made of some kind of foam, and, doesnt seem too durable, but, the Burman head is made of pottery plaster, and, looks better. you guys know of places that are any better?

dont know where you are, but look into the shipping charges for them unless youre really close. probably wont make that much of a difference, but it could.

i had/have one of the monster makers heads, and its pretty durable.

Why don't you just do a lifecast of the person with the biggest head that you can talk into it? Since you are doing a mask and not prosthetics, you just need a head to get the proportions worked out and the features and eye holes positioned right.

Don't forget to scale up your sculpture a bit to account for the shrinking of the latex when drying. If you are slush casting latex, some shrinkage will occur - the more fillers in the latex, the more shrinkage. Test dry a sample of your latex ahead of time to help you estimate the amount of snrinkage it experiences.

--becuase, im not ready to do a lifecast of anyone. thats why i want to do a mask. I can sculpt, and, i want to learn how to do the mold making.
--plus, the ONLY person i know that would even let me come near them to cast them, is someone that i will never see, hardly. So, it would be faster for me to just order a headform. also, i need a generic head to sculpt over, so i can make fake heads to blow up for a future project. i just want to learn this stuff as soon as possible. i really do.

the full size monster makers head is a ridged polyurethane foam, the small (and it is) maquette is a plaster or hydrocal i think...i'm not sure though. hit their website and see if it says.

I dont know for sure but other fx places may sell similar items
