I recently e-mailed Tom Savini about the creation of a bruise. This was his response. I thought it would be nice to post a professional's technique.

No,he only had to do with Dawn and Day of the dead,doing makeup effects in both and playing a biker named blade in Dawn,and he also directed The remake of Night of the Lving dead.He was supposed to do the makeup effects in Night but ended up having to go to Vietnam instead.
